Making a product look cool increases its desirability. Particularly, if on its own it doesn’t look particularly cool. How often have you seen electronic devices made from wood? Aren’t they usually designed with high tech materials to emphasise the technology?
So how do you make wood cool? You find something cool to do with wood. This ad, claimed by its makers to contain no artificial music added later, if it is genuine is quite amazing.
At 3 minutes, it is obviously made to be viral (which of course, I am assisting in posting it here). You will have to wait to the end to see what is being made of wood. The wood in the product is genuine - discarded wood according to the manufacturer.

that is really cool! though my kids didn't know the tune... need to do something about their music education!
Hi Greg,
I love the add, it's not often that I say that about any add!
The lesson to take from this is that maybe as Owners we need to look at how we communicate and to Not turn our Brand into Bland.
We need to make our marketing interesting, amusing and entertaining.
We need to incite some Excitement and Passion in our message. If we cannot do this then how do we expect others to be interested?
Otherwise we run the risk of Boring our Prospects into submission or even worse, becoming just like the rest.
Actually I haven't seen any electronic devices made from wood and probably won't see. But I do agree that desirability depends on the coolnesss.
