Ad of the Month - Timing

Some advertisers take advantage of events to promote their services. An example of which is this ad by State Farm Insurance which aired on high rotation after hurricane Irene hit the US. (Note they did not run it before!)

Others advertisers are run down by events.

The UK government, like governments around the world wanted to encourage tourism and it produced the ad below. As these ads go, it was pretty standard fare- show some famous sights, and then add to the mix some famous faces and voila you have your ad.

Then, of course, we had the riots, and the government pulled these ads which were screening around the world, but not before someone created the parody below.

Perhaps Greece may see this as an opportunity?
