Online sales have been challenging retail for some time but one retailer has fought back using social media to engage and connect buyers to their store.
This fashion chain in Brazil has used Facebook to display prominent items from their catalog inviting visitors to 'Like' items that appeal to them. Not too innovative you might say, but in their store, you will see these items on special hangers displaying the 'Likes' in real time.
Many fashion shoppers like to be re-assured that the purchase they are considering is liked by others. A third party endorsement. Would you prefer to buy an item with hundreds of 'Likes' or one with just a handful. Which raises the question, what happens with new items?
