Ad of the Month – Getting Your ATTENTION
In a world of ever shorter attention spans, where novels are condensed into 140 characters or less (eg War and Peace: A man tries to kill Napoleon, but doesn’t), how does the poor marketing professional capture your attention for just 30 seconds?
Well, in this ad, you want to know, why is this man smiling, so you stay to the end; and being funny, it also makes it memorable, which is essential if you want your message to be heard, and repeated.
For those who are unfamiliar with Southwest Airlines, it is cheap and cheerful. The only food they serve is a packet of nuts, with an unofficial slogan “Still Nuts after All these Years”.
