Over the years businesses have tried many different strategies to advertise their business, but few have tried warts and all honesty. While most will not lie, but gilding the lily is certainly the norm. Well here is an ad which presents the unvarnished truth, which did get quite a response for the advertiser.
This is an ad recruiting for a digital marketing agency. Rather than the usual oversell in this ad, the recruiter who was sick of ads that oversell the job attracting the wrong candidates, so he presented this ad to stand out, and wanted people who could see through the negativity and recognise the opportunity.
The recruiter said he has had a good response to this ad, but won’t be repeating this approach. I suppose you can only really do this once.
So is honesty the best policy? Is it a better way of standing out from the crowd and attracting the right people? What do you think?
