Imagine you had a product which had been largely been overtaken by technology in a particular market, and you wanted to get back into that market?
Canon used to be a major player in the consumer photography market, and then along came phones with quality cameras making your digital cameras unnecessary. What do you do?
You do something with your cameras that phones can’t do.
IPhones can’t print your photos. You can use a colour printer but most don’t use quality paper, and anyway it’s not instantaneous. Of course we used to have Polaroid cameras, but these were quite large and clunky. The new phones are slimline and quickly produce prints.
This ad presents all this in an amusing way with a well known fun and a slightly suggestive soundtrack, enticing you to stay till the end for the payoff and makes cameras cool again.
